A group of Israeli ministers and Knesset (MK) members have sent a formal letter to the U.S. Congress urging official recognition of the Jewish people’s historical and religious connection to the Temple Mount. The initiative, spearheaded by the organizations Beyadenu For The Temple Mount and Shofar in Zion, calls on the U.S. to acknowledge the “eternal and inalienable right of the Jewish people” to their holiest site. The letter emphasizes that while Israel protects religious freedom for all, Jewish worshippers are still denied unrestricted access to the Temple Mount due to international pressure.
The letter was signed by key government figures, including Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi and Culture and Sports Minister Miki Zohar, along with MKs from the Likud, Religious Zionism, and Otzma Yehudit parties. Activists behind this effort see a strategic opportunity following Donald Trump’s return to power, believing the new U.S. administration could help shift global discourse on the Temple Mount. Discussions are already underway with members of Congress to advance a formal declaration supporting Jewish rights to the site.
The push for international recognition of Jewish sovereignty over the Temple Mount aligns with the prophetic significance of Jerusalem in the last days. Zechariah 12:3 foretells that Jerusalem will become a “burdensome stone” for the nations, and efforts to reclaim the Temple Mount could be a step toward the prophesied rebuilding of the Third Temple (Daniel 9:27, 2 Thessalonians 2:4). As tensions over the site continue, believers should remain watchful, as these developments may be paving the way for end-times prophecy fulfillment. READ MORE
