Israeli Minister: UK Jews Should Flee Now

Jun 27, 2025

Israeli Diaspora Minister Amichai Chikli has issued a stark warning to British Jews, urging them to consider relocating to Israel amid what he describes as a rapidly deteriorating environment for Jewish life in the UK. In a candid interview with the Daily Mail, Chikli accused the newly elected Labor government, led by Prime Minister Keir Starmer, of aligning itself with pro-Hamas sympathizers and failing to take antisemitism seriously. He argued that unless there is a radical shift in the country’s political direction, the future of Jewish communities in Britain is in jeopardy. Citing the UK’s political climate and the Labor party’s sanctions against members of Netanyahu’s coalition, Chikli called the current approach “hostile” and warned that Jews in the UK should “make Aliyah while they still can.”

Chikli also criticized the Labor party’s refusal to directly condemn Hamas in recent public statements, suggesting it was a calculated political move to avoid alienating its electoral base. He pointed to ongoing pro-Palestinian demonstrations where extremist slogans are tolerated, and accused British police of threatening lone Jewish demonstrators for simply attending these events or holding critical signs. Despite the government’s proposal to classify Palestine Action as a terrorist group, Chikli dismissed it as symbolic and ineffective. A recent survey further underscores the concern, revealing that 64% of British Jews have faced antisemitism in the workplace since the October 7th Hamas attacks.
