Jews Flocking to Israel Amid War

Mar 26, 2026

Even as Israel faces ongoing missile attacks from Iran and Hezbollah, a surprising trend is emerging—rather than fleeing, Jewish people are returning. Leaders report that hundreds of thousands across the diaspora are making plans for Aliyah, with many sensing that Israel is not only their homeland, but their safest refuge in an increasingly hostile world. Despite war, hardship, and a sustained state of emergency, Israeli society remains resilient, with strong public trust in institutions like the IDF and emergency services reinforcing a national resolve to endure.

At the same time, Jewish communities abroad are experiencing a sharp rise in antisemitism, insecurity, and societal instability. From major cities like New York to regions across Europe, concerns about safety and long-term stability are driving many to reconsider where they belong. Israeli leaders, including President Isaac Herzog, have emphasized that Israel remains the anchor and home for the Jewish people. This growing sense of urgency is turning what was once a hopeful aspiration into a pressing reality, with increasing numbers of young immigrants even volunteering to serve in the Israeli military and build their lives in the land.
