Jihad in Uniform: Terror Plot Exposed

May 16, 2025

A disturbing plot has come to light involving Ammar Abdulmajid-Mohamed Said, a 19-year-old Michigan Army National Guard member from Melvindale, Michigan, who was arrested on May 13, 2025, for planning a large-scale Islamic terror attack on the U.S. Army’s Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command (TACOM) facility in Warren, Michigan. Said, an avowed supporter of ISIS, had pledged allegiance to the terrorist group and was preparing a deadly assault involving Molotov cocktails and firearms. According to authorities, this was no impulsive act of violence—it was a deliberate and calculated jihad operation, driven by a radical ideology and intended to strike a significant U.S. military target from within its own ranks.

The criminal complaint revealed that Said sought martyrdom, idolized ISIS governance, and admitted joining the military to gain combat training for jihad. He not only discussed plans to attack U.S. military personnel but also praised ISIS’s brutality and stated his allegiance was rooted in religious conviction. He recruited others whom he believed shared his extremist views and emphasized the importance of appearing as a U.S. soldier to avoid detection. On the day of the planned attack, Said arrived near the facility in tactical gear, conducted drone surveillance, and coordinated final details with undercover agents—only to be arrested before executing the assault. This case underscores the very real threat of Islamic radicalization within the U.S. military and highlights urgent gaps in ideological screening and internal security protocols.
