A new report by IMPACT-se has revealed that Jordanian school textbooks not only demonize Israel and Jews but also praise Hamas’ Oct. 7 massacre. The watchdog, which monitors global education systems, says Jordan’s curriculum “systematically incites hatred and violence,” fosters antisemitism, and erases Israel’s internationally recognized borders, replacing them with “Palestine.” Even the 1994 peace treaty with Israel is depicted as something negative, allegedly forced on Jordan to block Israel’s “greedy ambitions.”

The report further highlights disturbing examples: textbooks label murdered Israeli civilians on Oct. 7 as “settlers,” justify the massacre as a response to Israel’s supposed “daily massacres,” and repeat Hamas propaganda without evidence. Holocaust history is erased, antisemitic tropes about Jews being inherently treacherous are taught, and jihad against “infidels” is praised. IMPACT-se warns this education is fueling extremism, urging the international community to act swiftly. By contrast, Azerbaijan — a Muslim-majority country — has been praised for promoting tolerance and coexistence, showing that a very different path is possible.
