KFC All Hail the Gravy Ad Sparks Backlash

Mar 28, 2025

A KFC commercial titled “All Hail the Gravy” has sparked complaints to the UK’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), as many viewers accused it of mocking religious worship. The ASA has confirmed it has received almost 600 complaints about KFC’s new ad campaign, with some viewers even claiming the ad promotes cannibalism and glorifies Satanism. The ad, part of a broader campaign to promote the fast-food chain’s gravy, features people in a choir-style setting raising their arms in praise while being showered in brown gravy. The imagery mimicked scenes of religious devotion and baptism, leading to accusations of blasphemy and sacrilege.

The ASA confirmed that it had received 585 complaints in total, making it one of the most complained-about ads of the year. Many critics argued the campaign showed a lack of respect for people of faith and trivialized sacred religious expression by replacing devotion to God with adoration of a condiment. However, the ASA ultimately ruled that the ad did not breach any advertising codes, stating that it was intended to be humorous and unlikely to cause widespread offense.

This campaign is another sign of a culture that increasingly blurs the line between sacred and profane. Replacing worship of the Almighty with exaltation of food—even in jest—reveals a deeper spiritual condition where reverence for the holy is fading. While some may see it as lighthearted, this kind of ad points to a society more comfortable mocking faith than respecting it. Not the mention the occultic symbolism on display here. We have seen more and more dark imagery coming into the mainstream recently. This is by design. The world is being prepared for something truly dark and satanic. READ MORE
