Knesset Affirms Sovereignty in Judea, Samaria

Jul 24, 2025

In a landmark move, the Israeli Knesset has overwhelmingly passed a resolution affirming Israel’s historical, cultural, and legal right to the entirety of the Land of Israel, with specific emphasis on Judea, Samaria, and the Jordan Valley. The resolution, approved by a majority of 71 Members of Knesset, declares these areas as inseparable parts of the Jewish homeland, citing biblical cities such as Hebron, Shiloh, Beit El, and Shechem as enduring symbols of Jewish heritage and presence. It also underscores that the tragic events of October 7th reinforce the existential threat posed by the idea of a Palestinian state and concludes that such a notion must be removed from all political agendas.

The resolution calls upon the Israeli government to apply full sovereignty and civil law to all Jewish communities in the disputed territories without delay. Lawmakers asserted that doing so would fortify Israel’s national security and safeguard the Jewish people's right to live in peace on their ancestral land. Leaders from both the coalition and opposition who supported the resolution framed it as a crucial step in securing Israel’s future and honoring the prophetic vision of Zion’s restoration. Yesha Council Chairman Yisrael Ganz praised the measure as a reflection of the national will and urged the government to act swiftly to implement sovereignty on the ground, calling this a historic and pivotal opportunity for the nation of Israel.
