Leaked LGBTQ Church Training Video

Mar 29, 2025

A leaked LGBTQ+ training video from Andy Stanley’s North Point Community Church has sparked major controversy. In the footage, Britt Kitchen, Director of Transit (the church’s middle school ministry), instructs small group leaders on how to engage with 11- to 14-year-old students who identify as transgender. Kitchen emphasizes that leaders must use a student’s preferred name and pronouns, regardless of personal beliefs. He insists that “the church should be the safest place for a trans kid to show up,” instructing volunteers to affirm students with statements like, “I’m glad you’re here,” and avoid correcting them.

The training video is not an isolated incident, but part of a broader affirming direction the church appears to be taking. Debbie Causey, a licensed counselor and Care Ministry Director at North Point, has become a prominent voice advocating LGBTQ+ inclusion. After her own son came out as gay, she authored a book titled The Big Reveal—endorsed by LGBTQ+ activist Justin Lee—and regularly speaks at affirming events. North Point also partners with groups like Embracing the Journey, which openly promotes the affirmation of LGBTQ+ lifestyles within Christian families.

These revelations, while not surprising, have raised alarm among many who see North Point’s approach as a departure from biblical truth. Romans 1 describes the descent into cultural rebellion when truth is exchanged for lies. When churches begin to affirm what God calls sin, they are aiding in spiritual deception rather than offering true hope and transformation found only in Christ (1 Corinthians 6:9-11). READ MORE
