Locked Out of His Own Hand

Nov 28, 2025

A Missouri magician and molecular biologist has unintentionally become a walking parable of our cyberpunk future. Zi Teng Wang — known on stage as “Zi the Mentalist” — implanted an RFID microchip into his hand years ago to perform tech-driven magic tricks. But after rewriting the chip with various digital functions, including a Bitcoin address and a meme link, Wang realized he had forgotten the password that locks the device. Now, the chip embedded in his flesh is fully functional… and completely inaccessible to its owner. Tech experts told him the only way to possibly regain access would be to strap an RFID reader to his hand for weeks and brute-force every combination. His humorous confession — “I’m living my own cyberpunk dystopia life right now” — may feel lighthearted, but it underscores a much darker technological trajectory.

Stories like this highlight a growing trend: the merging of human biology with digital systems in ways that are irreversible and increasingly dependent on corporate, governmental, or algorithmic control. Whether it’s implanted chips, wearable IDs, or future neural implants promoted by major tech figures, humanity is inching toward a world where losing a password could mean losing access not to a device — but to parts of one’s own body. Revelation warns of a coming Beast System where buying and selling will be tied to an embedded mark (Revelation 13:16–17). While today’s implants appear voluntary and novelty-driven, they condition society to accept technology beneath the skin, normalizing the very infrastructure the Antichrist system will one day weaponize. A magician’s “fun" experiment now reads like a prophetic cautionary tale: once technology becomes part of your body, you may no longer be the one in control.
