Keep Watch!
Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

A horrifying tragedy unfolded in Shreveport when authorities say a father carried out a deadly shooting spree across multiple locations, leaving eight children dead and two others critically wounded. Police identified the gunman as 31-year-old Shamar Elkins, who was later killed after a police chase ended Sunday morning. Officials said the children ranged in age from 1 to 14, and seven of the eight victims were his own children.
Family members said Elkins had been struggling with severe mental health issues and had recently spoken openly about suicidal thoughts. Relatives described emotional conversations in which he expressed despair over marital problems and admitted being overwhelmed by what he called “dark thoughts.” His wife was also among those seriously injured in the attack and remained hospitalized. The heartbreaking case has shaken the community and renewed concerns about untreated mental health crises and domestic violence.
Events like this reveal how deeply society is being affected by hopelessness, broken families, and the rise of violence within the home itself. What was once considered a place of safety is increasingly becoming a scene of sorrow and chaos. As love grows colder and hearts become burdened by despair, these tragedies serve as another warning sign of a world in moral and spiritual decline, longing for restoration and peace.
