Mamdani Vows to Pursue Netanyahu’s Arrest

Oct 17, 2025

Queens Assemblyman and mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani told Fox News he would “exhaust every legal option” to have Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrested if the prime minister were to visit New York City. In the interview, host Martha MacCallum pressed him on whether he still stood by prior statements about arresting Netanyahu; Mamdani replied that New York is “a city that believes [in] international law” and should uphold it. He noted the International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu and argued the city should respect such warrants “in abiding with all of the laws in front of us,” while stressing he would not seek to create new legislation to make an arrest possible.

When asked whether the NYPD commissioner would cooperate, Mamdani praised Commissioner Tisch’s leadership and said he appreciated her work on crime reduction, but declined to predict her response. He emphasized his commitment to pursuing existing legal avenues rather than crafting new statutes to force the issue, saying repeatedly he would use every lawful means available if given the authority of the mayor’s office.
