Marching for Those Who’d Kill Them

May 19, 2025

It would almost be comedic if it weren’t so tragic: LGBTQ+ activists in the West, proudly waving Palestinian flags and chanting “One struggle, one fight: Palestine—trans rights,” all while ignoring the stark and brutal reality of life for LGBTQ+ individuals under the very regimes they glorify. This isn’t simply a case of poor judgment or ideological inconsistency—it’s a dangerous denial of reality. For Christian conservatives observing this cultural unraveling, it’s a sobering reflection of a society increasingly disconnected from moral clarity, truth, and even basic self-preservation.

To be openly LGBTQ+ in Gaza or under Palestinian Authority rule is to live in fear, secrecy, or exile. Under Hamas, homosexuality is criminalized, and those identified as LGBTQ+ face arrest, torture, or even execution. Ironically, many LGBTQ+ Palestinians seek refuge in Israel—a nation often vilified by these same activists—because it provides legal protections, hosts Pride parades, and embraces civil liberties. Yet, these facts are willfully ignored by movements like “Queers for Palestine,” whose intersectional worldview blinds them to the horrors inflicted by the very ideologies they promote. This alliance is not just misguided—it’s suicidal. It reflects a profound spiritual blindness described in Romans 1: a rejection of truth that leads to delusion and destruction.

The tragic irony here is that in their pursuit of justice and liberation, these activists have aligned with regimes that embody oppression and violence. As Dr. Victor Davis Hanson aptly noted, they have become “useful idiots”—pawns in a geopolitical struggle they do not understand, propping up systems that would silence or execute them. This is not only a rejection of biblical morality, but a chilling example of how spiritual darkness distorts compassion into chaos. As Christians, we must speak truth with grace, recognizing that these individuals are not just wrong, but lost—seeking hope and justice in all the wrong places. True freedom, the kind worth marching for, is found not in rebellion or ideology, but in the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
