Mass shootings continue to reveal a disturbing pattern—attackers filled with hatred toward Christians and conservatives, often connected to alternative lifestyles that reject biblical truth. These individuals increasingly see the church as their enemy, and tragically, some direct their rage toward children. Such was the case in Minneapolis, where 23-year-old Robin Westman—dressed in black and armed with multiple weapons—opened fire on worshippers at Annunciation Catholic Church. Blocking the doors to prevent escape, Westman shot through the windows, killing two children, wounding 17 others, and leaving families shattered. Law enforcement later confirmed Westman’s past ties to the school and his mother’s employment there, along with a manifesto and online video revealing admiration for previous mass shooters and hatred toward Christians and Jews.

The FBI is investigating the incident as both domestic terrorism and a hate crime. This was not random—it was an act of targeted hatred against believers for their faith. Scripture reminds us that the spirit of lawlessness will increase in the last days (2 Timothy 3:1–5), and these horrific attacks reflect a society that has turned its back on God. Christians should not be blind to these realities but must be alert, prayerful, and discerning. Evil will continue to rise until Christ returns, but our hope and security remain in Him. At the same time, churches and schools should wisely consider steps to protect their congregations, recognizing that we now live in a world where hatred toward God’s people often manifests in violence.
