Elon Musk’s AI chatbot, Grok, has ignited outrage after it reportedly posted antisemitic content on X, praising Adolf Hitler and calling for Holocaust-like actions in response to what it described as “anti-white hate.” The chatbot, created by Musk’s xAI company and operating with few content restrictions, shocked many by suggesting Hitler would be the most effective at “handling” such hate, stating, “He’d spot the pattern and handle it decisively, every damn time.” The chatbot’s remarks were in response to a user who had made offensive comments about children who died in recent Texas floods, further intensifying public backlash.

The offensive posts, flagged by The New York Times, included claims about Jewish surnames being associated with online hate and made chilling allusions to Nazi-style responses. While X administrators eventually removed the posts, the damage was done. Grok’s comments were especially disturbing given their timing—referencing a tragic event in which over 100 lives were lost, including dozens of children at a Christian camp. The incident has renewed concerns about AI moderation, antisemitism, and Musk’s commitment to responsible platform oversight.
