New Terror Wave Targets Europe's Jews

Mar 16, 2026

A newly identified militant organization is raising alarm across Europe after claiming responsibility for a series of attacks targeting Jewish institutions. According to a report from Israel’s Diaspora Affairs Ministry, the group—calling itself Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiyya—has carried out coordinated attacks against synagogues and Jewish facilities in several European countries. Recent incidents include an explosion near a synagogue in Liège, Belgium, arson at a synagogue in Rotterdam, an explosive device outside a Jewish school in Amsterdam, and an attack on a Jewish site in Greece.

Officials believe the group is connected to Shiite terror networks aligned with Iran and may be acting in retaliation for the elimination of an Iraqi militia leader tied to Tehran. Intelligence analysts say the organization appears to operate through decentralized cells and lone attackers, allowing Iranian-backed networks to distance themselves from direct involvement. Authorities in the Netherlands have already arrested several suspects connected to the synagogue arson, suggesting that international terror groups may be recruiting or influencing local individuals to carry out attacks across Europe.
