A recent legal settlement in Chicago has spotlighted a deeply troubling trend in American public education—students being subjected to pagan religious practices under the guise of mindfulness and meditation. In this case, over 750 students will receive a combined $2.6 million after being forced to participate in Hindu rituals during school hours. The program, a partnership between the Chicago Board of Education and the David Lynch Foundation, involved private worship ceremonies, mantras invoking Hindu deities, and even nondisclosure agreements warning students not to tell their parents—especially if they were religious. Lead plaintiff Kaya Hudgins described being pressured into a ritual she didn’t understand, calling the experience a violation of constitutional rights.
Attorney John Mauck, who represented the students, argued the program amounted to demonic invocation and a clear breach of the Establishment Clause. While the settlement is a step toward justice, he and others warn that this is just one instance among many. Across the nation, schools are introducing similar programs rooted in Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, and even Aztec rituals. California's ethnic studies curriculum included chants to violent Aztec deities, and schools in states like West Virginia and Tennessee have faced backlash for encouraging Islamic declarations of faith. These practices, often promoted under the labels of "cultural awareness" or "wellness," are paving the way for occult and anti-Christian ideologies to take root in classrooms.
This rise in religious indoctrination is not accidental. From John Dewey’s humanist philosophies to the United Nations' World Core Curriculum inspired by New Age occultist Alice Bailey, there has long been an undercurrent of spiritual subversion in state-run education. The roots of public schooling are intertwined with spiritual agendas that oppose biblical truth, and these recent events reveal just how far the system has strayed. The Chicago case may provide a moment of accountability, but it also serves as a wake-up call. For those concerned with truth, parental rights, and the spiritual well-being of children, it is time to reconsider not just policy—but the entire foundation of government education.
Stay Awake. Keep Watch.
