Palantir CEO Warns of 3-Front Global War

Aug 15, 2025

Palantir CEO Alex Karp has warned that the U.S. is “very likely” to face a simultaneous conflict with Russia, China, and Iran—a three-front war scenario he says demands a rapid push toward autonomous weapons. In an August interview with the New York Times, Karp argued that nuclear deterrence has weakened because the West is less likely to use such weapons, while its adversaries might. This, combined with what he describes as “technological parity but moral disparity,” gives enemy nations a decisive advantage. He noted the rise of autonomous drones and near-robotic weapons, already in play in Ukraine, as a harbinger of future warfare.

Karp questioned whether America’s leaders are projecting enough strength to deter aggression, stressing the need for clear red lines and the resolve to enforce them. He also voiced support for the draft and class-based affirmative action, arguing that cultural division is fueled by the fact that only working- and middle-class citizens typically serve in combat. Politically complex, Karp is a progressive who voted for Biden but heads a company once contracted under the Trump administration to compile extensive private data into a federal database—raising concerns about surveillance and state power.
