Pentagon Eyes Domestic Guard Force

Aug 14, 2025

The Trump administration is considering establishing a 600-member National Guard “Domestic Civil Disturbance Quick Reaction Force” that could deploy to U.S. cities within an hour to quell protests or unrest, according to The Washington Post. Pentagon planning documents outline the force’s makeup, with troops armed and equipped for riot control, split into two 300-member units stationed in Alabama and Arizona.

This initiative would further expand President Trump’s use of military forces on American soil, coming alongside his recent deployment of 800 Guard members to Washington, D.C., to combat what he calls rising violent crime—despite D.C. police data showing significant declines since 2023. Internal projections suggest the program could cost hundreds of millions annually if military aircraft are kept on constant standby, with the earliest launch in fiscal year 2027 unless alternative funding is secured sooner.

The concept of rapid-reaction forces and military readiness within domestic borders aligns with the growing infrastructure of control that Scripture warns will characterize the last days. While the stated intent may be public safety, the centralization of armed power, coupled with expanding surveillance capabilities, creates an environment ripe for authoritarian control. History shows how quickly such tools can be repurposed—what is built to address unrest today could one day be used to suppress dissent against a global system tomorrow.
