Keep Watch!
Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

A growing wave of doctrinal rebellion is sweeping through sectors of the modern church, and two recent stories illustrate just how deep the drift has become. In Missouri, Protestant pastor and YouTube apologist Rich Tidwell publicly announced that he now has two wives—declaring polygamy “biblical” and claiming God divinely ordained plural marriage. Tidwell, who leads Ormond Church in Canton, MO, celebrated the arrival of a second wife and an eighth child on Instagram and published a lengthy article arguing that Scripture regulates but never forbids polygamy. His claims twist the Old Testament narrative beyond recognition, ignoring the chaos, jealousy, and judgment that always accompanied polygamous households—from Abraham to Jacob to David. While Tidwell insists this is part of a “second reformation,” his position reflects not reformation but regression—a return to practices the New Testament clearly corrects through the model of one husband, one wife (1 Timothy 3:2; Titus 1:6).
Meanwhile in Berlin, the breakdown has advanced even further. A Protestant youth pastor, Lena Müller, stood outside her church to “bless” a marriage of four men—a Latvian, a Thai citizen, a Spaniard, and another Latvian—calling their union “love” and claiming God affirmed it. Rather than condemn the ceremony, the regional Evangelical Church defended Müller and even threatened critics. Once the church abandons Scripture, the descent is swift: from same-sex marriage to polyamory to whatever boundary culture erases next. A society that rejects Genesis 2:24 (“one man… one woman… one flesh”) inevitably embraces self-defined morality, and a church that blesses sin under the guise of compassion becomes an institution of affirmation rather than transformation. These two stories—American polygamy and European polyamory—showcase the same crisis: a world, and a church, replacing God’s design with human desire. And Jesus warned that in the last days, deception would flourish—even among those claiming to shepherd His flock.
