Pope Leo XIV has taken papal theatrics to a new level—this time by blessing a melting block of ice as part of his latest crusade against so-called “climate change deniers.” With solemnity usually reserved for holy rites, Leo raised his hand over the frozen cube and declared that leaders must act with “courage, not delay.” He then asked the crowd, “Will you join with us?”—as if the salvation of the world depends on bowing to the altar of environmentalism rather than the cross of Christ.

The Bible tells us plainly that the earth is the Lord’s (Psalm 24:1) and that it will endure until God Himself makes all things new (2 Peter 3:10–13). Yet here we see the Pope parading a glacier on stage, joined by Hollywood elites, turning fear of the weather into a substitute gospel. Climate change has become a false religion, one that elevates creation above the Creator (Romans 1:25). While Leo calls for repentance over carbon, Scripture calls for repentance over sin. Instead of blessing blocks of ice, perhaps the Pope should be warning of the fire of judgment soon to come. The real crisis isn’t climate—it’s the spiritual deception paving the way for the Antichrist’s kingdom.
