Porn "Education" and Moral Collapse

Feb 23, 2026

A Minnesota state lawmaker who identifies as a transgender woman recently argued against age restrictions on pornography websites, claiming that so-called “queer kids” need access to explicit material for “educational” purposes. During a committee hearing, the lawmaker suggested that limiting minors’ access to pornography could be used to prevent LGBT youth from discovering their identity, framing explicit content as a substitute for formal sex education. The remarks immediately ignited backlash across social media, including from some within the LGBT community who rejected the notion that children require pornographic material to understand themselves.

Critics pointed out the obvious contradiction: laws restricting adult content have historically aimed to protect children from exploitation and premature exposure to explicit material. Yet in this debate, pornography was recast not as harmful, but as instructional. The controversy underscores a broader cultural shift—where boundaries once considered self-evident are now reframed as oppressive, and where innocence is increasingly treated as an obstacle rather than something to preserve. What would have been unthinkable in prior generations is now defended in legislative chambers as compassionate policy.
