Several far-left and anti-war groups have mobilized across the United States to stage pro-Iran demonstrations in response to Israel’s recent military campaign, “Operation Rising Lion,” aimed at dismantling Iran’s nuclear and missile programs. These groups, many of which also champion the Palestinian cause, quickly organized protests in cities nationwide to oppose U.S. involvement and pressure the federal government to distance itself from Israeli military actions. Among the groups leading these efforts are the ANSWER Coalition, Code Pink, Jewish Voice for Peace, the Democratic Socialists of America, and the Party for Socialism and Liberation. Demonstrations in places like New York City and Washington, D.C., featured participants waving Iranian and Palestinian flags, chanting anti-Israel slogans, and demanding an end to U.S. support for what they call “Zionist aggression.”
In rallies from Manhattan to Sacramento, activists have framed their opposition as part of a larger movement against perpetual war and unchecked executive military power. Protesters carried signs such as “No War on Iran,” “Stop U.S.-Israeli Aggression,” and “Honor the War Powers Act,” arguing that military action should require congressional approval. Demonstrators linked their opposition to broader frustrations with what they view as reckless foreign policy decisions and a disregard for constitutional limits, particularly in light of ongoing tensions under the Trump administration. With a War Powers Act resolution set for debate in Congress, isolationist Republicans and progressive Democrats alike are pushing to restrict presidential authority to launch strikes on Iran without explicit authorization. While President Trump has not confirmed plans for military action, he has hinted that failure by Iran to curb its nuclear ambitions could prompt a U.S. response.
Stay Awake. Keep Watch.
