Propaganda in the Classroom at Northwestern

Nov 25, 2025

A disturbing report out of Northwestern University shows just how deeply antisemitic misinformation has penetrated America’s academic institutions. According to lecture slides obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, associate professor Helen Tilley used her “Biomedicine and World History” class to promote extremist anti-Israel narratives—claiming Israel intentionally killed its own citizens on October 7 and arguing that the Jewish state has no right to self-defense. The session, titled “Discussion on Palestine and Israel: Past and Present,” featured two guest speakers—both anti-Israel activists—who, along with Tilley, previously signed a campus resolution accusing Israel of “genocide” and calling for a boycott. The presentation advanced debunked propaganda, including the outrageous assertion that the IDF enacted the so-called “Hannibal directive” to kill Israeli civilians rather than allow them to be taken hostage. Northwestern’s own Coalition Against Antisemitism says the class was openly hostile to Jewish and Israeli students.

This is far more than an isolated academic scandal; it is a warning. Universities, once committed to truth and critical inquiry, have become breeding grounds for ideological extremism—shaping the worldview of the next generation through revisionist history and propaganda. Scripture warns that in the last days, deception will spread so widely that even institutions once seen as intellectual strongholds will abandon truth for delusion (2 Tim. 4:3–4). The normalization of antisemitism on campuses across America is not accidental—it is part of a growing spiritual and cultural hostility toward Israel that aligns with prophetic patterns. As hatred of the Jewish people intensifies, believers must remain vigilant, discerning, and anchored in biblical truth.
