A prominent Israeli rabbi is drawing international attention after claiming that the long-awaited Messiah could be announced this Thursday, coinciding with Rosh Chodesh Nisan, the beginning of the biblical calendar year. Rabbi Baruch Rosenblum, a well-known rabbinical teacher in Israel, recently stated in a widely circulated lecture that the announcement could come through a broadcast from Jerusalem. His comments also connected the timing to rising tensions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most strategically sensitive waterways and a flashpoint in the ongoing confrontation between the United States and Iran.
Rosenblum pointed to Jewish tradition that associates the month of Nisan with redemption, noting that the Exodus from Egypt occurred during this month and that some rabbinic writings teach that Israel’s future redemption will also take place in Nisan. He further referenced a 500-year-old commentary on Isaiah known as the Kli Paz, written by Rabbi Shmuel Laniado, which links a final conflict involving the region of Bozrah—a location historically associated with Edom—to a dramatic act of divine judgment preceding redemption. Rosenblum suggested that modern geopolitical tensions in the Middle East could align with these ancient interpretations.
