Tensions continue to escalate in Seattle as a clash between Christian demonstrators and far-left activists unfolds in the area once known as the CHOP zone. Over the weekend, 23 members of Antifa and Black Bloc were arrested after a Christian rally turned violent. Several police officers were injured during the altercation, prompting renewed outcry from faith-based groups. Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell, a Democrat, sparked controversy by appearing to shift blame onto evangelical participants rather than condemning the left-wing agitators, triggering accusations of religious persecution. In response, Christian leaders and supporters gathered at City Hall in a protest dubbed the “Rattle in Seattle,” calling for the mayor’s resignation.
Now, the federal government is taking notice. FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino has announced an official investigation into alleged targeted violence against religious groups. “Freedom of religion isn’t a suggestion,” Bongino stated on X, signaling the agency's commitment to probe the incidents surrounding the rally. The “Rattle in Seattle” event, led by Pastor Russell Johnson of Pursuit Church, drew what officials called the largest pro-Christian gathering at City Hall to date. Though the demonstration remained mostly peaceful, several skirmishes broke out. A journalist was assaulted by pro-trans activists, and a young mother carrying her baby was surrounded by a hostile group, prompting police intervention. Eight additional arrests were made as tensions spilled into the evening. Christians in Seattle are vowing not to back down, declaring their right to worship and speak freely, even amid rising opposition.
Stay Awake. Keep Watch.
