Saudi Arabia Leads Push for Palestinian State

Jul 28, 2025

Saudi Arabia is positioning itself as a leading force in the international push for Palestinian statehood, as Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan reaffirmed the Kingdom’s dedication to the Palestinian cause ahead of a major peace conference in New York. Co-chaired with France, the high-level ministerial event reflects Riyadh’s long-standing support for the Palestinian people and its pursuit of a two-state solution. Prince Faisal emphasized that under the leadership of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Arabia is actively working to secure a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East through diplomacy and a commitment to global stability.

The upcoming conference, held at the United Nations with wide international participation, will advocate for the implementation of UN resolutions calling for a sovereign Palestinian state based on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. The effort builds upon the September 2024 launch of the international coalition for the two-state solution, led by Saudi Arabia, Norway, and the EU. Prince Faisal also highlighted how the initiative aligns with broader Arab-Islamic diplomatic efforts to end the suffering of Palestinians and promote long-term peace in the region.
