Saudi Signals Interest in Abraham Accords

Nov 19, 2025

In a major diplomatic turn, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman told President Donald Trump during his Washington visit that Riyadh wants to join the Abraham Accords—so long as the agreement includes a path toward a Palestinian state. The meeting, which marks the crown prince’s first trip to the U.S. in seven years, signals that the Saudis are once again positioning themselves as a decisive player in regional diplomacy. According to U.S. officials, the crown prince expressed openness to normalization with Israel, while insisting that any deal must advance the two-state framework. President Trump later confirmed the discussion, noting that bin Salman was receptive to deeper cooperation and even committed to helping finance Gaza’s reconstruction as part of a broader stabilization effort.

Yet Israel’s political landscape presents substantial obstacles. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly rejected a Palestinian state, even as he endorsed elements of Trump’s Gaza plan approved by the UN Security Council. Meanwhile, Trump’s willingness to sell F-35 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia—stating that both the Saudis and Israelis “should get top-of-the-line” aircraft—has alarmed Israeli defense officials concerned about maintaining Israel’s unique military edge. The Saudis’ push to join the Abraham Accords may reshape the region, but the prophetic implications run deeper: shifting alliances, disputed land, and global powers brokering peace deals in the Middle East echo the very dynamics Scripture warns will define the last-days landscape.
