Former Scientologist Leah Remini is sounding the alarm after observing what she described as a troubling proximity between members of the Church of Scientology and Donald Trump’s political orbit. Responding to commentary from conservative radio host Erick Erickson, Remini warned that the presence of Scientologists around the administration is “very scary,” citing the group’s long-documented strategy of influence and infiltration. Her comments follow reports that Trump appointed Scientologist Patricia Duggan to the Kennedy Center Board of Trustees and featured Scientologist real estate developer Grant Cardone at a major 2024 campaign rally.
Journalist Yashar Ali echoed those concerns, pointing to teachings from Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard that encouraged adherents to embed themselves within governments and centers of power. Ali described Scientology not as a benign or eccentric belief system, but as a highly controlled, transnational organization intolerant of dissent and hostile toward critics. The episode raises broader questions about spiritual deception, unseen influence, and the growing entanglement of belief systems with political authority—an enduring theme Scripture warns will intensify as truth and power increasingly collide.
