Sorcery Will Flourish During the Tribulation

Mar 28, 2025

Revelation 9:21 and 18:23 both speak of sorcery as a dominant and destructive force in the last days. The Greek word used for “sorceries” is pharmakeia, where we get the modern term “pharmacy.” While this certainly includes drug use, the biblical concept is broader—referring to occult practices, manipulation, deception, and the seeking of supernatural power apart from God.

The article from Harbinger’s Daily explains that sorcery will become widespread during the tribulation because of humanity’s rejection of truth and craving for signs, wonders, and power on their own terms. People will turn to the supernatural, not in repentance or submission to God, but in rebellion and self-exaltation. The Antichrist and False Prophet will exploit this hunger through demonic signs and lying wonders (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12), leading many deeper into deception.

This paints a grim picture of the world post-Rapture: a society not just indifferent to God but openly embracing darkness. As the Church is removed and moral restraint vanishes, demonic influence will surge unchecked. Revelation reveals that even in the face of God’s judgment, many will “not repent of their sorceries,” showing the deep spiritual blindness and bondage to sin that will define the tribulation world. The rise of sorcery isn’t just about magic or mysticism—it’s evidence of a culture fully surrendered to satanic influence. READ MORE
