Student Punished for Christian Gender Views

Dec 2, 2025

A University of Oklahoma junior says she was academically punished for expressing biblical truth in a class assignment—another sign of the growing hostility toward Christianity in American academia. Samantha Fulnecky received a zero out of 25 on an essay after openly affirming the biblical view that God created humanity male and female, citing Scripture as the basis for her response. The assignment specifically asked students to give their “thoughts,” “opinions,” and personal application of an article on gender norms. Fulnecky did exactly that—but her professor’s assistant rejected the response outright, not because she failed to follow instructions, but because her viewpoint conflicted with the ideological demands of the classroom.

Incidents like this expose the widening chasm between Christian conviction and the state-approved religion of gender ideology. Students are told to “think critically,” yet punished when their conclusions differ from the secular orthodoxy. The targeting of Christian students for simply affirming God’s created order reflects what Scripture warns will mark the last days: intolerance toward truth, suppression of righteousness, and the rise of a culture that “will not endure sound doctrine.” This is not just an academic dispute—it is part of the broader spiritual realignment conditioning a generation to reject biblical authority in favor of human-crafted identity narratives.
