Texas Democrat James Talarico is once again stirring controversy after defending his claim that God is “non-binary,” insisting the statement is not provocative but theological. Talarico, who has blended progressive politics with Christian language, has previously argued that the Bible supports abortion rights, promoted veganism as a climate solution, and labeled the public display of the Ten Commandments as “violence.” Now he is doubling down, framing his latest remarks as a defense of students who feel different and misunderstood.

Talarico attempted to justify his comments by referencing the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Galatians, claiming the verse “there is neither male nor female” supports his view. Yet that passage has long been understood as speaking of equality before God, not the erasure of created distinctions. What we are witnessing more and more is the rewriting of plain truth through modern ideology. Language is being reshaped, meanings are being inverted, and sacred things are being redefined to fit the spirit of the age.

This matters because confusion has become one of the defining marks of our time. Institutions, leaders, and even some churches now echo messages that blur what was once clear and challenge foundations that stood for generations. When truth becomes negotiable, deception gains ground. These developments serve as another reminder that discernment is essential, because many voices now speak with authority while leading people further from what is unchanging.
