U.S. Senator Ted Cruz sounded a sobering alarm this week, warning that American churches are dangerously “asleep” as antisemitism surges across the nation. Speaking before the Israel Allies Foundation in Washington, D.C., Cruz said the hatred unleashed after the October 7 attacks exposed a truth many prefer to ignore: the same spirit that fueled the Holocaust is still alive today. He pointed to a growing hostility toward Jews—especially among younger generations—as evidence that this poison is spreading unchecked, crossing political, cultural, and geographic boundaries.

Cruz placed part of the blame within the Church itself, calling out what he described as the heresy of replacement theology, which falsely claims the Church has replaced Israel in God’s plan. “If we lose this battle, we lose our nation,” Cruz warned, emphasizing that spiritual error has real-world consequences. His remarks echo biblical warnings about deception in the last days and the danger of abandoning God’s covenant promises (Romans 11:1–2). As antisemitism rises on both the left and the right, Cruz’s message serves as a wake-up call: silence and theological compromise are not neutral—they are enabling forces in a growing spiritual and cultural war.
