France was rocked by another apparent act of terror Wednesday morning when a man deliberately rammed his car into pedestrians and cyclists on the Île d’Oléron, injuring at least ten people—several critically. According to French authorities, the suspect, a local man in his 30s known to police, drove at high speed between the villages of Dolus d’Oléron and Saint-Pierre-d’Oléron, striking multiple victims, including a young girl. After abandoning the vehicle, he reportedly tried to set it on fire before fleeing on foot. Police subdued him with a stun gun and discovered gas canisters inside his car.
