Three people were killed Monday during a shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego in San Diego, as law enforcement officers responded to what authorities described as an active shooter situation. According to police, two suspects later died from self-inflicted gunshot wounds following the attack. Among those killed was a security guard at the mosque, while several others were injured during the chaos. The Islamic Center, which also operates a school on the property, was quickly locked down as officers secured the scene and safely reunited children with their families.

San Diego police and multiple emergency agencies flooded the area as investigators worked to determine the motive behind the deadly assault. Officials confirmed that local, state, and federal leaders, including Donald Trump and Gavin Newsom, were briefed on the unfolding situation.
