President Donald Trump's former wife, Marla Maples, has revealed that Trump carries an Aramaic copy of the Zohar close to his heart for what she described as spiritual "protection and healing." Maples, Trump's second wife, made the revelation during an interview with Israel's Channel 12, saying he carries the Book of Pinchas from the Zohar beneath his clothing. The Zohar is the foundational text of Kabbalah, a tradition of Jewish mysticism containing esoteric interpretations of Scripture and teachings concerning the nature of God, creation, the spiritual realm, and divine mysteries. Maples herself has reportedly studied Kabbalah for years, observes Shabbat, eats kosher food, recites the Shema daily, and has made multiple visits to Israel, including Safed—a historic center of Kabbalistic study.
