Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

U.S. officials say six nations—Egypt, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Germany—have committed to joining President Donald Trump’s proposed Board of Peace, a new international body intended to oversee postwar governance in Gaza. According to sources familiar with the discussions, the commitments provide early international buy-in to the Trump administration’s Gaza plan beyond the initial ceasefire phase. While participation does not guarantee financial, military, or political backing from each country, Washington hopes the board’s broad and high-profile membership will lend legitimacy to the effort and encourage additional contributions as the plan advances.
The administration is now seeking to expand the panel further, with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan among the most sought-after additions. Riyadh remains cautious, waiting for greater clarity on Gaza’s security situation and Hamas’s refusal to disarm, while Israel continues to resist Turkish involvement, particularly in any international stabilization force that could replace the IDF. As U.S. pressure mounts on all sides, the Board of Peace is emerging as a central mechanism in shaping Gaza’s future—one that could redefine regional alliances and test whether diplomacy can hold in an increasingly volatile prophetic landscape.
