Turkey-Qatar Alliance Fuels Hamas Concerns

Oct 27, 2025

Turkey and Qatar have deepened their partnership through new defense, trade, and strategic agreements, sparking renewed concern that their growing influence in Gaza could embolden Hamas and undermine the fragile U.S.-brokered ceasefire. As Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha, the two reaffirmed their commitment to “regional stability” while finalizing deals that include advanced military cooperation and technology transfers. Yet behind the diplomatic optics lies a strategic realignment — one that experts warn could strengthen Hamas’s infrastructure under the guise of reconstruction. Both nations have long been accused of financially and politically supporting the group, raising fears that the current peace process could be exploited to expand Islamist influence in the region.

Meanwhile, Hamas has openly rejected any calls to disarm — a central requirement of President Trump’s 20-point peace plan. A senior Hamas official declared that surrendering weapons was “out of the question,” and the group intends to maintain control in Gaza. This defiance, combined with Turkey and Qatar’s expanding roles, threatens to derail long-term stabilization efforts and weaken Israel’s security buffer. Analysts warn that the alliance between Ankara and Doha could evolve into a protective shield for Hamas, ensuring its survival and regional relevance. From a prophetic perspective, these developments point to the continued convergence of Middle Eastern powers against Israel — setting the stage for further unrest in a region already steeped in biblical significance.
