Turkey & Qatar Enter Gaza Rule

Jan 19, 2026

Israel’s political leadership is sounding the alarm after confirmation that Turkey and Qatar will be included in a newly formed Gaza Executive Board operating under an international “Peace Council.” Israeli officials across the political spectrum—coalition and opposition alike—have condemned the move as reckless and dangerous, arguing that it places the future of Gaza in the hands of nations long accused of supporting Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. The outrage is compounded by the reality that Hamas still maintains tens of thousands of armed fighters in Gaza, while Israeli hostages remain in captivity.

Critics warn that this arrangement effectively rewards Hamas and undermines Israel’s hard-won military gains. Opposition leaders have described the development as a historic diplomatic failure, accusing Israel’s leadership of allowing foreign powers to dictate Gaza’s future over Israel’s objections. Particularly troubling to Israeli officials is the inclusion of Qatar and Turkey—both accused of financing, hosting, or ideologically backing Hamas—into a governing role that shapes Gaza’s reconstruction and security architecture. Rather than dismantling terror infrastructure decisively, the plan risks rebranding it under international cover.
