Two-State Plan & Gaza Ceasefire

Jun 27, 2025

Following a high-level call between President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, new details have emerged about a shared strategic vision aimed at ending the Gaza war and expanding the Abraham Accords. According to sources familiar with the discussion, all four leaders expressed enthusiasm over the success of the recent B-2 bomber strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites. However, the conversation quickly pivoted toward broader regional goals, including a framework for a two-state solution, conditional Israeli sovereignty in parts of Judea and Samaria, and normalization deals with Syria and Saudi Arabia. The plan includes the rapid conclusion of Gaza hostilities within two weeks, with four Arab nations—including Egypt and the UAE—assuming civil and security control of the Gaza Strip. Hamas would be dismantled, remaining leaders exiled, and hostages released. In turn, global partners would help relocate civilians seeking emigration.

The long-term vision involves dramatic diplomatic movement: Syria, Saudi Arabia, and other Arab and Muslim nations would formally recognize Israel through an expanded Abraham Accords initiative. Israel, in exchange, would express conditional openness to a two-state framework, dependent on reforms within the Palestinian Authority. Simultaneously, the United States would back limited Israeli sovereignty in select areas of Judea and Samaria. Meanwhile, diplomatic sources report significant pressure from the Trump administration urging Netanyahu to end operations in Gaza—a pressure that reportedly reignited following the completion of Operation Rising Lion. Tensions surfaced when Trump, frustrated over Israeli strikes that followed his Iran ceasefire announcement, questioned why Netanyahu would risk their larger peace agenda over what he called a “minor Iranian missile.” In an effort to clear the way for Netanyahu to fully engage in this sweeping peace plan, Trump reportedly intervened to delay the Israeli leader’s upcoming court testimony, underlining the depth of their commitment to a transformative regional agreement.
