Britain is reportedly preparing a sweeping ban on trade with Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria, marking a significant escalation in London's pressure campaign against Israel. British Prime Minister Andy Burnham is considering a complete trade embargo on goods connected to Israeli communities beyond the Green Line, with an announcement potentially coming within weeks. The government is also reportedly considering additional sanctions against Israeli officials and individual residents. The immediate catalyst is Israel's publication of construction tenders for the controversial E1 development between Jerusalem and Ma'ale Adumim. Britain argues that construction there would jeopardize the territorial continuity of a future Palestinian state, with Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband calling the project an “unacceptable and destructive act” and promising further measures if Israel refuses to reverse course.
