A growing global controversy is emerging over Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE), a curriculum framework promoted by international organizations including the United Nations and increasingly implemented in schools around the world. Critics argue that what once focused primarily on biology, health, and safety has evolved into a broader ideological movement introducing children to concepts surrounding sexual rights, gender identity, and sexual expression at increasingly younger ages. According to reports highlighted by ADF International, many parents remain unaware of the full extent of the material being introduced in classrooms, while educators and outside organizations are often given significant discretion in how the curriculum is presented.
The report points to incidents in multiple countries where parents say children were exposed to sexually explicit or emotionally distressing content without proper oversight or parental consent. One case in Australia involved teenage girls allegedly being shown graphic material during a school session led by outside presenters. Critics warn that international curriculum guidelines now encourage discussions about gender identity and sexual exploration among children as young as five to eight years old, while older age groups are introduced to subjects involving contraception, abortion, and broader sexual rights frameworks. Supporters of the programs argue they are intended to promote safety, inclusion, and awareness, but opponents contend the initiatives increasingly bypass parental authority and normalize ideas many families believe should be addressed at home rather than by institutions.
