In Daniel 12:8, Daniel states, “I heard but could not understand.” Despite his earnest plea for clarity, the angelic messenger tells Daniel that the full meaning of these prophecies would remain sealed until the time of the end. Daniel was given a glimpse of events that would only make sense in the context of future developments. However, he was told that three specific signs would help identify the final days—an explosion in travel, a dramatic increase in knowledge, and a growing understanding of prophecy. These signs would be discernible only to the “wise,” those spiritually attuned and living in the last days.
Incredibly, we are witnessing all three of these signs today. Knowledge has increased at a staggering pace, particularly in the past century. From the printing press to quantum computing, each technological leap has fueled an exponential curve of advancement. Travel, once limited to horse-drawn carriages, now spans the globe in hours, with humanity reaching even into space. And perhaps most remarkably, prophetic understanding—once veiled in mystery—is becoming clearer as biblical scholars observe the convergence of end-time signs. These trends are not random but divinely foretold, signaling the soon return of Jesus Christ. For believers, these fulfillments are a source of hope and motivation. For unbelievers, they serve as a wake-up call that time is short, and salvation is urgent.
