President Donald Trump announced that a "great settlement" has been reached and claimed that final documents are now being prepared. According to reports, a broad coalition of regional powers—including Israel, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, and Egypt—have either approved or expressed support for the framework. Iranian media also reported that Washington has largely accepted Tehran’s draft proposal, although Iranian officials continue to accuse the United States of shifting positions throughout negotiations.
Despite the optimistic rhetoric surrounding the agreement, tensions remain evident beneath the surface. Reuters reported that U.S. forces recently intercepted two Iranian attack drones allegedly targeting commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, underscoring the fragile security environment surrounding the negotiations. The incident occurred even as both sides publicly signaled progress toward a diplomatic breakthrough. The contrast between active military confrontations and ongoing peace talks highlights the volatile nature of the region, where diplomacy and conflict often unfold simultaneously.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly spoke directly with President Trump regarding the proposed agreement. While Israel is not formally a party to the deal, Netanyahu emphasized the importance of provisions requiring Iran to surrender enriched nuclear material, dismantle enrichment infrastructure, restrict missile development, and end support for proxy groups throughout the Middle East.
