According to Israel’s Ministry of Aliyah and Integration, more than 22,000 new immigrants arrived in the country, with nearly 40 percent coming from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and France. Many of these newcomers are young professionals, university graduates, and families choosing to establish their lives in Israel even as the nation remains engaged on multiple fronts. The report suggests that confidence in Israel’s future remains strong despite the uncertainty surrounding the region.
One of the most striking trends is the growing number of Jewish students and young adults leaving Western countries after experiencing rising antisemitism. Reports of harassment on university campuses, social isolation, anti-Israel demonstrations, and hostility toward Jewish students have increasingly influenced decisions to make aliyah. Some immigrants describe feeling unsafe expressing their Jewish identity or support for Israel in their home countries. At the same time, thousands of new immigrants have enrolled in Israeli universities, joined the workforce, and even enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces, contributing to the nation’s economy, healthcare system, and security establishment.
