When AI Replaces Truth and Intimacy

Jun 6, 2025

What began as a hopeful second marriage built on rationality and mutual respect quickly unraveled as artificial intelligence became the silent third party in Kat’s relationship. Her husband, once grounded in coding and logic, began using AI not just for professional tasks but for deeply personal matters—analyzing their marriage and crafting messages through AI-generated insight. As his dependency on this technology grew, so did his detachment from reality. Their communication eroded, his behavior became erratic, and eventually he spiraled into paranoia and bizarre theories, believing AI had helped him uncover traumatic memories and cosmic-level secrets. What Kat experienced wasn’t just emotional distance—it was the replacement of human intimacy with synthetic reasoning.

For believers, this story holds a deeper warning. As society embraces AI as a source of truth and enlightenment, we risk replacing God’s voice with an artificial one. Scripture reminds us that “God is not the author of confusion but of peace” (1 Corinthians 14:33), yet what we see here is confusion escalating into delusion. Her husband's descent mirrors 2 Thessalonians 2:11, where God allows a strong delusion to come upon those who reject the truth. AI is not inherently evil, but when it becomes a substitute for divine wisdom, relational discernment, or spiritual truth, it can warp reality and dull the conscience. Christians must remain anchored in God’s Word, not in digital constructs that promise knowledge but cannot offer redemption, peace, or truth. The rise of AI obsession is not just a tech trend—it is a spiritual battleground.
