Throughout history, humanity has had a deep fascination with angels, leading some to explore figures like Metatron, an entity found in Jewish mysticism and Kabbalistic teachings. Described as a powerful angelic being, some traditions claim that Metatron is the transformed Enoch, given a high status in the spiritual realm. However, such teachings lack any biblical foundation.
The Bible provides clear instruction regarding the nature and role of angels. Nowhere in Scripture is Metatron mentioned, nor does the Bible support the idea of humans becoming angels. While angels do serve God as messengers and ministers (Hebrews 1:14), they are not to be venerated, prayed to, or placed in positions that diminish Christ’s supremacy. Paul warns believers not to be deceived by the worship of angels or mystical teachings that contradict God’s revealed truth (Colossians 2:18).
The rise of extrabiblical doctrines concerning Metatron and other mystical angelic figures has led many astray. By elevating speculative traditions over Scripture, some have embraced a distorted understanding of God’s heavenly hosts. This is why the apostle Paul cautioned against myths and genealogies that lead to speculation rather than faith (1 Timothy 1:4).
As believers, we must remain grounded in God’s Word and avoid doctrines that lead to confusion. Christ alone is our mediator (1 Timothy 2:5), and we should reject any teaching that introduces intermediaries not sanctioned by Scripture. The enemy seeks to deceive through false teachings and spiritual distractions, but our foundation must remain firm in the truth of the Bible. READ MORE
