The controversy erupted after Libs of TikTok posted the results of testing the customization feature, prompting The Gateway Pundit to conduct its own test on a Chicago Sky jersey. When “Jesus Christ” was entered, the system responded that it was unable to customize the item with the requested text. Yet “Muhammad” and “Allahu Akbar”—Arabic for “God is greatest”—did not produce the same immediate warning. Other reportedly accepted entries included “Praise Allah,” while the system also allowed “Jesus” and “Christ” individually, suggesting the rejection may have been tied specifically to certain combinations of words.
