Why This Isn’t the War of Ezekiel 38

Jun 16, 2025

As the conflict between Israel and Iran intensifies, many Christians are asking whether we are witnessing the fulfillment of Ezekiel 38—the dramatic battle known as the War of Gog and Magog. With missiles soaring, alliances shifting, and prophetic excitement building, it’s understandable that believers are searching Scripture for clarity. Yet, despite the serious and sobering nature of the current war, a careful reading of the prophetic text reveals that this is not the moment Ezekiel described. Prophecy is precise for a reason; it demands discernment, not speculation. While today’s events may indeed foreshadow future developments, they do not yet match the biblical criteria laid out for this end-times invasion.

Ezekiel 38 describes a very specific scenario: a time when Israel is dwelling securely and unsuspectingly, when a vast northern-led coalition—including Russia, Iran, Turkey, and others—launches a land-based assault driven by plunder, not ideology. That invasion will be met with direct, supernatural judgment from God—earthquakes, fire, and hail—culminating in His name being exalted among the nations. None of those conditions have been met. Today’s war is technological, ideological, and limited in scope. There is no massive army, no surprise peace, and no divine intervention. It may be leading us closer to that appointed hour, but this is not it. For now, we watch and wait—not in fear, but in faith—knowing that when God’s prophetic timeline advances, it will do so unmistakably and perfectly.

Stay Awake. Keep Watch.
