Keep Watch!
Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

At the London premiere of Wicked for Good, stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo made headlines by calling the film “a queer story” and proclaiming, “the gayer, the better.” When asked what message they had for gay fans of The Wizard of Oz, Grande responded that “Oz has always been a queer place… a safe space for every color of the rainbow.” Her co-star echoed the sentiment, turning the film’s promotional moment into a celebration of LGBTQ ideology. Their comments reflect the ongoing trend of Hollywood’s rebranding of classic stories to fit progressive narratives—transforming tales of moral courage and redemption into platforms for social activism. The original Wizard of Oz may have been whimsical and imaginative, but the modern adaptation seems more intent on moral rewriting than meaningful storytelling.
The normalization of sin through entertainment is no longer subtle—it’s the industry’s mission. Scripture warns that in the last days, people would “exchange the truth of God for a lie” (Romans 1:25), calling what is unnatural “good” and mocking God’s created order. Hollywood’s fixation on turning every beloved story into an ideological sermon exposes a deeper spiritual rebellion—a desire to erase biblical truth from culture and replace it with self-made morality. Yet the rainbow they claim as their symbol was first given by God as a reminder of His mercy and covenant. Today, it has been repurposed as a banner of defiance. When even children’s stories are reimagined to glorify sin, it’s clear the cultural war is not about art—it’s about allegiance.
