The prophet Hosea once warned, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6), a statement that feels increasingly urgent in our present age. When the Church drifts from the foundation of God’s Word, it doesn’t just lose clarity—it loses its identity. Nowhere is this erosion more visible than in worship, a sacred act meant to exalt God’s truth. Yet today, some churches have turned worship into a platform for theological confusion. One recent example is a song from The Well Church in Arizona titled “We’ve Got No Idea What We’re Doing.” Rather than offering biblical insight or pointing hearts toward God’s revealed truth, the song embraces a message of spiritual uncertainty, blending contradictory religious ideas under the banner of unity.
The deeper message of these lyrics undermines the very foundation of the Gospel. The repeated refrain suggests that divine truth is unknowable and that all religious paths hold equal weight—a claim that runs directly counter to Christ’s declaration in John 14:6 that He alone is “the way, the truth, and the life.” This isn’t simply bad theology—it’s a dangerous embrace of relativism that downplays the seriousness of sin and the necessity of repentance. True worship is not built on emotional sentiment or cultural trends; it is anchored in the revealed Word of God. As believers, we are not left guessing—we are called to worship in spirit and in truth, proclaiming a gospel that is both clear and uncompromising. Now is the time for the Church to reject confusion and return to the unshakable truth of Scripture.
Stay Awake. Keep Watch.
